How it works – MoveInApt (DRAFT)

How it works · Dallas–Fort Worth

Finding an apartment shouldn’t feel like a second job.

So we made it simple. You tell us what you’re looking for — in your own words, in English or Spanish. A local expert does the digging, lines up the tours, and stays with you until the keys are in your hand. It costs you nothing, and here we explain, honestly, why.

The process

Four steps, from first message to move-in.

No account to create, no fees to sign, no call center. You talk to a real person who lives here — the same person, start to finish.

  1. Tell us what you’re looking for

Describe it your way — “bright 2-bedroom in Uptown, dog-friendly, walk to DART, under $1,800†— or use the filters if you’d rather point and click. Budget, neighborhood, must-haves. Whatever matters to you.

Vibe search or filters — your choice

  2. A local expert builds your options — the same day

Someone who actually knows these buildings hand-picks real communities that fit — which Uptown mid-rises take big dogs, which Plano complexes are quiet at night, where the current move-in specials are. Not a generic list scraped off the web.

  3. Tour the ones you like — we coordinate it

We line up the appointments so you’re not chasing leasing offices or waiting on callbacks. See your favorites in person or on video, on your schedule. No pressure, no obligation — walk away anytime.

  4. Sign — and your move is discounted

When you’ve found the one, you sign your lease directly with the community. If you want it, add a discounted move through our moving partner — something the big national locators simply can’t offer.

The honest part

Why it’s free for you

Apartment communities set aside a referral budget to fill their units. When you lease through us, that budget pays us — a commission from the complex, not a fee from you. It’s the same arrangement a leasing agent has, except you get a bilingual local on your side and a discounted move on top.

Your rent is exactly the same as if you’d walked into the leasing office off the street. Working with us doesn’t raise your rent, doesn’t change your approval odds, and doesn’t add a single fee. The complex pays; you don’t.

  • Your rent doesn’t change
  • No fee to you, at any step
  • A possible rebate at signing, where the community offers one

“Free†only earns your trust if we can explain exactly who’s paying. So we do.

Questions renters ask

Straight answers

Is it really free? What’s the catch?

Really free — there’s no catch, just a source of payment we’re happy to name. The apartment community pays us a referral commission when you lease. You pay nothing, at any step, and your rent is identical to leasing on your own.

Why do you ask me to list MoveInApt on the application?

Most applications have a “How did you hear about us?†or “Referred by†field. Listing MoveInApt there is simply how the community knows to credit us — it’s the record that we helped you, which is what lets them pay us instead of you. It costs you nothing and takes one line.

What exactly is the rebate?

Some communities offer a move-in incentive — a rebate — that we can pass along to you at signing. It isn’t guaranteed everywhere, because not every complex offers one, so we won’t promise a number up front. When a rebate is available, your expert will tell you the terms before you sign.

Does going through you change my rent or my approval odds?

No to both. You pay the community’s published rent, and your application is reviewed on the community’s own criteria — exactly as it would be if you’d found the place yourself. We help you find and tour; the leasing decision is always the community’s.

Do I have to use your moving partner?

Not at all. The discounted move is an optional perk, not a condition. Use it, use your own movers, or move yourself — the apartment search is free either way, and nothing about your lease depends on it.

Which areas do you cover?

The Dallas–Fort Worth metro — Uptown, Deep Ellum, Las Colinas, Lake Highlands, Frisco, Plano and the neighborhoods around them. If you’re not sure whether we cover where you’re headed, just ask; we’ll tell you honestly.

Can I do all of this in Spanish?

Yes — search, tour, and sign in Spanish or English, start to finish. The person helping you speaks your language; this isn’t a translated script bolted on at the end.

What if I already started an application somewhere?

Tell us early. If you’ve already registered or applied at a community on your own, that complex may already have you on record — which can affect whether we’re able to help there. The sooner you loop us in, the more we can do for you.

That’s the whole thing.

Describe your place, and a local expert brings you real options — usually the same day — with a discounted move waiting if you want one. No fees, no runaround, in the language you prefer.

See you at move-in.
